Which robot mowers fit your slope and yard size?
Enter your steepest slope and how much ground the mower has to cover. The tool checks both against the four mowers whose numbers are confirmed.
How it decides
- Rated for it: the mower's slope rating is at least 10 points above your slope.
- Tight: your slope is under the rating but within 10 points of it.
- Too steep: your slope is above the rating.
The 10-point cushion is this site's rule of thumb. No maker publishes one. It is there because a rating is a ceiling, and none of the pages say what conditions it was measured in.
Size works the same way. The tool picks the smallest model of each mower whose rated area covers yours. If your yard is bigger than the largest rated area, that mower is marked too small. The largest rating among the four is 1.25 acres (the LUBA 3 AWD 5000).
The Husqvarna has two ratings: 70% inside the lawn and 50% at the boundary wire. Tick the edge box and the checker uses 50% for it. The other three makers publish one number, so the box doesn't change them.
What it can't tell you
- Whether a slope is hard to climb because of wet grass, loose soil or tree roots.
- Whether the mower copes with the shape of your yard. Narrow gaps and tight turns are separate limits.
- Mowers left off the list. Here is that list and the reason for each.
